Suzuki Fan RIDE Festa 2017
I went to Autopolis held on June 18 (Sun.).

I arrived at the venue parking lot at about 9:00 a.m.
It was still deserted, so I hoped this would be an unlimited ride.

However, after 10:00, the number of visitors increased rapidly, and in no time at all, there was a long line.

That's a great number of people for a popular car model!

This time, the test car is
GSX-S1000 ABS/GSX-S1000F ABS/GSX-S750 ABS
GSX250R/ Gixxer/ V-Strom 650 ABS
SV650 ABS / Hayabusa / Bergman 200
on the website, but the venue was not.
What a surprise, GSX-R1000 is also available. Preferably the 1000R...

By the way, the test course is the Lakeside Course.

First, I rode a GSX250R.

The cockpit area is well finished in the recent Suzuki 250cc class.

Finally, we are on the course, and our spirits are high.

Following last year, I participated in the Kyushu 2-Stroke Meeting on Sunday, May 21.

The location is the same as last year, the Mokkonkan in Oguni, Kumamoto.

The event was held at 10:00AM, but I arrived at about 9:30.

The parking lot where the event will be held does not have many participants yet. The number of participants will increase as time goes by!

 

As we approached the Wooden Soul Museum, the organizer's photographer was taking pictures, which were printed at the venue.

It was a rare opportunity for me to have my riding photographed, so it was a valuable photo.

 

The weather was perfect, and it is refreshing to ride a motorcycle in the Aso area during this time of year.

 

Due to business, I attended only in the morning.

It was very useful to exchange information with people in Nagasaki who ride the same motorcycle.

 

The degree of bikes gathered has improved over last year, and participants seem to be maintaining better conditions through the exchange of information.

Some of the participating vehicles looked like new.

I left the venue before noon with a feeling of being backed into a corner.

Honda DREAM Festa Grand Test Ride
I went to HSR Kyushu on Sunday, May 28.

I went on a test ride of the vehicle I was looking for at this year's event.
(X-ADV, CBR250RR, CBR1000RR SP, REBLE500, CBR400R)
There are already quite a few people lined up for the morning reception.
After the reception, you will receive a 5-ticket packet (only up to 5 cars can be ridden).

Sponsors also set up booths, and the two-wheel parking lot is covered. Highs in the 30s.
I am trying to be a good person, so I appreciate it.

After applying for the car type you want, get in line for the car type you want.
You can get a glimpse of the level of popularity here.

It appears that nearly 70 vehicles have been brought in for this test drive.

First, I was most interested in X-ADV.

The lead cars were all CBR250RRs. Following the lead car, we entered the course.
One of the inexperienced in this group ended up driving at low speed.

Incidentally, the cockpit is finished in an adventurous manner.

Next is the just released CBR250RR.

The cockpit is racy, flying above the rest of the 250SS in Japan.
(The clip-ons under the top bridge are reminiscent of the ’80s and ’90s.)

The lead car of this group ran at a good speed there, which gave us a glimpse of its performance.

Next was the REBLE500, which I was interested in because I do not usually ride cruiser-type vehicles.

It's an easy position and easy to maneuver.
I guess one thing that bothered me was the interference with the left leg of the clutch cover.
Maybe I should just ride with my legs open like an American.

Next is the CBR1000RR SP, which is now out of my price range.
It is a very intriguing body.

The opening screen with the key ON is also very elaborate.

Now, straddle the seat and check the position. As expected of SP, the seat is high....

Those who choose CBR1000RR are used to riding.

As expected of a CBR1000RR lead car, it pulls quite well.

Finally, I rode a CBR400R. It is a paratwin 400cc, so the body is light.
It has power with no complaints for city driving, and the position is comfortable.

There is no peak power, but the handling is straightforward.

Even if you don't own a motorcycle, as long as you have a motorcycle license, you can take a test ride.
You can ride as much as you want (preferably in a large size, even better).

I went to the San Ai Rest House on Saturday, May 13.

Heavy rain from the previous day remained until dawn, so the number of motorcycles was low.

Raimu, a senior student of "Bak-ON! and was also present at the Enjoy Honda event.

In late April and early May, the world is in the midst of Golden Week.
I too am on a calendar vacation.
I ran for 1,000 km to break in.
I decided to drive on the highway to make the distance easier.

I thought of heading for Oita, but it was G.W.
We turned around on the way because traffic was expected to be congested with more and more cars.

Later, after the earthquake to Sanai Rest House in Senomoto
We went down to check the road conditions.
The direct route to Tawarayama Tunnel is closed.

Most of the wind turbine propellers near the top of Mt. Tawara have been removed.

The road on the Minamiaso side is easier to drive than the Kumamoto City side, with no gaps.

On the Yamanami Highway, near Senomoto, visibility was poor due to drizzle, and we soon turned back.
The return trip will be via Kenny Road (Green Road).

In places, you can see the scars of the earthquake on the roads.

The Jizo Pass area is also foggy and looks like it is in the clouds.

When you turn to the Kumamoto City side, the weather turns around and you can see the city in the distance.

The weather is perfect for convertibles and motorcycles.

Change the day and head for San-ai Rest House on the main bike.
A Colt Rally Art Version R was spotted sticking around.
In the early morning, be careful with colored pavement as morning dew remains.

On the way, we will take a break at LAWSON in Minamiaso (it is a strange colored store),

There were a variety of events during the event, and we will pick up a few of them.
First, HondaRacing Performance
HSR Kyushu is a rare course where motorcycles and 4-wheelers can run together.

You will only see SUPER FORMULA and motocross together here.

The McLaren Honda MP4-31 cockpit experience was so popular that there was already an 80-minute wait.
I gave up on the intolerable...

The NSX cockpit experience was also popular, with a 40-minute wait. We gave up on this one too...

MotoGP and NSX VR also had long lines...

The racing simulator D.D.R. is also attracting crowds.

Kumamoto Prefecture's sales manager, which boasts an economic impact of more than 120 billion yen.
The popularity of "Kumamon" is enormous among the little ones.
Strider test-ride event is also crowded.

On Sunday, CB Owner's Meeting is held and CBs gather from all over the country.

And the highlight of the event, the NSX ride-along experience.
I went to the lottery on Saturday, but it's after 9:30 and the registration is already closed: ・・・・
By the way, the vehicles are 130R White and Berliner Black.

I came back on Sunday and went early, but there was already a long line.

After about 100 people or so, I drew the lottery and was right on target and got a slot for 12 people in the morning.

When the time came, I headed to the pit and was led to Berlina Black.

When I got into the car, Matsuura from Epson-Nakajima was waiting for me.

After a brief exchange of greetings, it was time to hit the course.
At the start of the race, the car was driven only by the motor, and as expected of HYBRID.
It is extremely quiet. The sound of the 3.5L V6 can be heard when you step on the accelerator pedal.
It plays and is a wonderful acceleration.

The main straight and the 1st and 2nd corners, the back straight and the 65R, 40R compound corner.
I asked the driver to run at a reasonable speed. As expected of SH-AWD, it was very stable.
As for acceleration, I drive a liter SS on a daily basis, but for a long time it was as if my brain was being left behind.

The approximately two-lap ride-along experience comes to an end.

I bid farewell to Matsuura and leave NSX.

We were lucky to have a ride-along experience with a professional driver this time.
Hopefully, I would like to experience the real mode at least once.

4/23(Sun) Kumamoto Flying Festival

The Blue Impulse of the Air Self-Defense Force came to Kumamoto.

The last time this species flew to Kumamoto was in 2007 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the construction of Kumamoto Castle, so it has been about 10 years since its last visit.

On the day of the show, the sky was clear and cloudless! Cars and trains were crowded in the city to catch a glimpse of the air show, which is not often seen.

We are scheduled to start around 11:00, and it's already 11:20...yet, hmmm...?

It was a 20-minute display flight, but I was impressed by its beautiful and controlled flight.

Since I usually see only passenger planes that fly only a fixed route, I was impressed that airplanes can fly so freely like dolphins!

While watching the performance, I also thought somewhat about peace and contingency....

 

Come to think of it, the Matsushima base where the Blue Impulse is located was also damaged by the tsunami after the earthquake, and it took a year for them to return.

It has been exactly one year since the earthquake in Kumamoto. Sometimes I still feel shaken by the earthquake, but I want to look forward and upward.
